Lighting, architecture and performances

Inside, red and blue lighting transformed the hall. The chandelier, stage and illuminated organ pipes gave the photographs a strong sense of place, with wide views showing details that close-up portraits cannot.

The performers added another visual layer. A living statue portrait and photographs of costumed performers with flowing fabric sit alongside the guest images, recording more of what made this formal distinctive.
