Melbourne Cup day at Union Hotel Jannali brought together colourful race-day outfits, cocktails and plenty of celebration. HR Images photographed the event, capturing the people and details that gave the day its character.

This selection moves from the activity behind the bar to guest portraits and spontaneous reactions around the venue. Together, the photographs tell a broader story of a hospitality event: the team looking after guests, the setting and the moments people shared.

Race-day style and guest portraits

The gold backdrop and colourful balloon display made a lively setting for portraits. Guests arrived in bright dresses, headpieces and race-day outfits, with opportunities for both individual photographs and groups of friends.

A good event gallery needs room for these posed photographs as well as the moments in between. A group portrait records who was there; a shared laugh or an excited reaction brings back the feeling of the day.

Behind the bar at Union Hotel Jannali

The bar was part of the story too. Photographs of beer being poured, a cocktail shaker in motion and finished drinks show the service and preparation behind the celebration. These details sit alongside the guest photographs to give a more complete view of the venue.

For hospitality businesses, an event can also be an opportunity to build a collection of venue and service imagery. Our commercial photography services cover the people, spaces and details that help customers get to know a business.

The moments that bring an event gallery to life

Some of the strongest photographs are the least formal: guests smiling at a table, a playful moment behind the bar and arms raised in celebration. These images add energy and personality to the gallery without needing every photograph to be posed.
