Sony Zeiss Distagon 35mm f/1.4

The first thing I can say about this lens is WOW; this is my all time favourite lens. There are so many reasons why i love this lens.

This lens is amazing for it’s AF speed (especially in low light), sharpness and creamy bokeh. This is my lens of choice which i have paired with my a7sii 99% of the time, these two combined just blows you away with the image quality it produces. The 35mm f1.4 is great for every kind of shoot i.e., Landscapes, street photography, weddings, christenings you name it. One thing I love about this lens is the aperture ring; I just love how easy and quick it is just changing the f-stop using the aperture ring. Combined with the a7sii even though the lens looks big I have found it feels really well balanced in your hands. Below are sample images of different things I have shot using the Zeiss 35mm f1.4. With my reviews and test, i take them out in the real world showing the results of everyday shooting, events and much more

The AF on this lens is fast and accurate, especially in low light. This lens excels in the low light especially in churches. This image was at a recent christening I shot using the a7sii + Zeiss 35mm f1.4 ISO 100, f1.4 shutter 1/250

This is straight from the camera no editing. Absolutely love the bokeh this lens can produce. Sony a7sii + Zeiss 35mm f1.4 ISO 250, f1.4, shutter 1/60

Even though i own the 28mm f2 i still always intend to use the 35mm f1.4. It has always been perfect for the landscapes i shoot. This was shot at ISO 100, f4, shutter 5

I used the a7sii + zeiss 35mm f1.4 during vivid festival Sydney. Shooting hand held at f1.4 this combination can achieve anything. This was shot at ISO 500, f1.4 shutter 1/500

Even for close up portraits this lens performs really well. I just love how the bokeh just falls off. This was shot at ISO 400, f1.4, shutter 1/250

One thing i love about this lens is the way the images it produces just pops out giving that 3D look. For the money of this lens it is definitley worth it. It is truly an impressive lens, if money isn’t an issue i would strongly recommend. This is a lens you would truley be happy with. As you can see from the above images this lens is perfect for everything.
